Hello,

I am new to the forum, but do most of my DIY prep here.

I have a question regarding what to use as a centre line.

I am tiling above the worktop including a splashback area above the hob (with a cupboard over the rest of the worktop). The worktop is 240cm, but the hob doesn't sit in the middle - it's 60cm in from the left.

Do I measure the centre line above the hob, so that the bit that the eye is drawn to looks correct, or do I use 120cm as the centre line? Or does it not really matter?

I've done the other part of the L-Shape already and it looks really good, so I don't want to mess this are up!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Martin
