Ceramic Hob Not Working

Our over 10 year old Whirlpool has stopped working.
Basically, one of the 4 hobs doesn't start up.
Interested to know what are the usual reasons are for this and if possible to fix.

Failing that, looks like replacing the whole unit doesn't look too tricky as just lifts out.

Could be element failure, loose connection or even the on/off
