Hi everyone sorry to be a pain , when replacing the isolation valve on my boiler do I have to drain the system , turn off mains water or is there a more simple way?

Many thanks

If only the CH valve then just drain to below the valve height.

You dont need to turn mains water off.

If you are talking about a combi then the F+Return not connected to mains,

Why are you changing 1 valve not both? Use the time to flush the system
re pressure vessel to 1 bar fit MagnaClean + X200 :?:

and you wont have to turn the mains off when you repair the leaking magnaclean in 6 months time :D
