hello,
I have a Sunvic 207XL programmer and tonight I heard a buzzing noise then a loud pop. Now the programmer is not powering up. It is about 12 months old and I fitted it myself as a direct replacement for an old mechanical unit.
i have checked the spur fuse and that had blown, I put a new fuse in but still nothing on the programmer and the fuse stayed ok. What I would like to know is how to trace what caused the problem (I`m guessing it was a short in something)? I know basic electrics and have a dvm to test with but central heating is one of those great mysteries.
Any help please as the wife will start moaning when I havn`t done it!
Thanks

Could be just a faulty programmer, or a plethoria of other possible faults.

Pump, boiler fan, zone valve, you will have to test each item for shorting out. only you can tell as you are there.
