Chalk Paint help, please.

So I have painted my 4 kitchen stools with chalk paint matt. Problem is we do not like it at all, we don't want to wax or polish over it so, can I just repaint with a wood gloss paint? or are there better options? Thanks

Never done it myself but if the paint is stable and does not rub off with a damp cloth or white spirit I would try painting an area under one of the seats.
