Change hallway 2 gang switch for 1 gang and...

Hi.

I plan to change the 2 gang light switch near the front door to 1. This is to stop people pressing the wrong one, which switches off the outside doorway PIR light. I would like a permanent live feed to the outside light.

There is another 2 gang switch at the other end of the hallway which operates the same hallway light, and the upstairs landing light.

How would I do this, please?

Also, I would like to then loop the live from the outside light to a wifi CCTV camera and floodlight, ideally separate.

Sounds too simple in principle, so I would appreciate any advice, please and thank you.

Pictures of the wiring on the two-gang switch please so we can see where each wire come from and goes to.

You wiil very likely have something resembling this:

the switch on the left being the 2 way, all of the wiring will need to be copied exactly into the new switch, any wires in the right hand switchwill be removed from the switch and linked together with a connector, something like this:

The actual number of wires and the colours may be different to those shown.

A picture showing what you have will make it far easier for us to give precise advice.


EDIT: I suddenly realise the image I've used shows an intermediate switch so the left switch will definitely be different.
