Ive got this retro table lamp I which has a euro Style2 pin plug which i beleive has no earth.
The light works fine when using one of those shaving adapter plugs

Can anyone confirm if these be safely refitted with a conventional uk 3 pin plug?

Replacing a 2-pin plug with a 3-pin plug that has the earth pin disconnected won't make the lamp any more or less safe.

How safe the lamp is in general is a question that is difficult to answer without careful inspection.

Yes, the plug makes no difference.

Obviously can't say whether the lamp should be earthed or not.

You are being stupid. Where can you get a 16 amp fuse to fit a UK plug?
I can't help you with a 16A one but, as discussed before, you could get a 20A one from me (or one or two others in this forum) :-) ...
