I've done it many many times, but there is always a chance of a mishap. Having everything prepared and to hand is a must. Will the old valve come out easily? Are you changing like for like?
honeywell (without the bump comin out) honeywell going in . Worried about the feed being blocked so dont want to drain but the system must be crapped up because this valves only been in 2 yrs
Its essential that you unblock the cold feed for correct system operation. This may be a cause of the system crud. Magnet test all around the H section or feed and vent connection area and fix that problem and to do this means a drain down. Just fitting a new valve and ignoring the system faults is what a cowboy would do.
