I'm after some advice please,

My gas main to my property is fitted at ground level on the external of the front of my property, the pipe runs from that in copper above ground clipped to the outside of the house and then goes through the wall to feed the boiler.

I would like to build a porch on the front of my house and I know a live gas pipe can't run under the porch so can I change it from where it comes out of the meter in copper to mdpe, bury it ( under the driveway) go around the porch and the come back up where it enters the property and connect back to copper?

Thanks in advance.

The whole meter has to be outside in a box that is only vented to outside.
Also all pipework after the meter has to be hard metal, plastic is not allowed.
So you'll have to get it moved I'm afraid

Thanks John, to get the meter moved I take it that would be a gas board job?

Post the question on the Plumber's page, the Gas Safe people should be able to advise definitely, but possible you may be able to do this using 'Tracpipe'.
