Hi just a quick question?

Am going to be changing Internet supplier. I use Firefox and IE. Do I need to back up my favourites, history etc?

A change of provider won't effect your favorites or anything else on your computer.

One bit of advice for people who use their ISP's e-mail, when you change ISP you are likely to lose your e-mail address and it is worth thinking about this earlier rather than later.

So either use a gloabl e-mail provider (hotmail, gmail)
Register a domain that isn't tied to your ISP (a few quid a year), you can normally forward this to your ISP's e-mail if that is easiest.

I have a lot of friends who are still using [email protected].

As other said, favorites are not ISP dependent.

I'm using Yahoo email so that obviously won't be affected. What confused me was a few years ago I had to reinstall AOL because of a power cut which sent my router crazy. I remember the computer man saying to me what browser do you want to use which was IE. I also had to back up my favourites.

I'm changing from AOL to BT broadband.
