Good Evening everyone, we have 2 ageing boilers, namely 2 Boulter Gas Rays, recently on a gas inspection one of the boilers has developed a damp patch on the heat exchanger, this has prompted use to look at purchasing 2 new boilers for out plant room.
So far we have had 2 estimates, both are to use similar boilers but one has suggested that rather than pressurize our rather old system which we have had a few leaks on over the years they would fit a plate heat exchanger, when i asked what this was they said it similar to what is used to heat a swimming pool and that we could keep the system being fed of a header tank and only pressurize the boiler side of the pipe work
I hope I am explaining this well enough, I don't understand much about Plumbing and heating, does what they propose sound feasible? the other company are happy to pressurize the system but did say that they would not be held accountable for any leaks
