Hi,

I want to change my kitchen sink but am not sure how to turn off the hot water. There is a stop cock underneath which turns off the cold but what do I do with the hot (which I believe comes from a tank in the airing cupboard)?

If you have a hot water cylinder locate the pipe that enters at the base of the cylinder and find a valve to shut if off (maybe in the loft on one of the pipe runs leaving the cold water tank)

If you have a combi boiler then closing the mains water stopcock will do the trick.

Once you have isolated the supplies then fit a couple of isolators on the pipework and you can restore the supplies to the rest of the house whilst still working on the new sink

Of course all of this assumes that you have a loft / loft tanks and valves!
