Dear All,

In my kitchen I have some LV undercabinet lighting which are fed via transfomers.

I am considering changing the transformers for LED compatible ones and am wondering if this can be done myself or would I have to use an electrician.

The new transformers may or may not require different types of plug. ie they may or may not be 'plug and play'

Cheers

Paul

You can do it yourself.

Some points.

The lights that you have are probably 12volt? That makes them EXTRA low voltage (ELV). Low voltage includes mains voltage (230v AC)

The existing transformers are probably not compatable with the LED lights. Get the LED DRIVERS that the supplier specifies.

Legally you can providing you prove what you have done is safe.
Whether you need an electrician, would depend on your ability to prove what you have done is safe.
