changing use of loft (possiable conversation)

guys first post, please be gentle.
my loft measures
length: 6.9m
width: 3.3m
hight at apex: 2.3m

it has electrics & lighting.

the house was built approx 1965 & was originally a flat roof. the apex roof was put on approx 1980. it is also an end terrace.

can i remove the diaginal struts to get more space.

also what else would i need to do to turn the space into a proper room (apart from se's & building regs).

this is the arrangmet of the struts(not the best pic but hopefully you get the idea).

Seriously, as stuart45 has said, there is little you can do with this type of roof other than store boxes in it.

would it make a difference that the flat bitimuim roof is still on the house( i.e. the pitched roof sits on the flat roof)
