Putting a used kitchen in for my neighbour on a tight budget.
At the point where worktop is needed. 2.2M and 1.6M in L shape. Will be using a metal corner joint.

Have been scouring ebay, marketplace, etc but no joy.
Travis Perkins have 3000 x 600 x 28mm for £54.
Best deal I can see to cover the requirements.

Not going to be great quality I would imagine but neighbour lives alone and kitchen will only get light use.
Any downsides to using a 28mm over 38mm? Will be dropping a sink and hob in.

Thanks

Yep that seems to be about the cheapest out there, I spent a few months scouring for a cheap worktop over the summer, always used to be B&Q, then they put them up to £60, though bought one on sale eventually for £48, though think that may have been 2.4m rather than 3m but at least they cut them down to suit in store.

Selco. Thin ones ok but might need more support round cut outs etc. For the lengths you need a 4m might be better if you happen to live near an online supplier. Or you can resell the offcuts.
