Has anyone bought a cheap (e.g. sub £100) mains belt sander recently?

Any recommendations, or things to avoid?

I had a great lidl one for years until it was lent out and not returned. It had a nice wide belt

I have the Bosch green one now, which is good albeit with a narrower belt.

Just remember to properly clean it out and don't let the dust accumulate in the motor housing. Also, get one of those rubber stick belt cleaners.

The downsides to the green Bosch are that it is only a single speed and that the brushes cannot be replaced. On the upside, it can be turned upside down. I have used the pro-version of the sander, it was pretty good but unlike my old Dewalt/ELU belt sander, you need to use two hands. Unlike my aging belt sander, you sand flush to skirtings etc.

I have has a parkside (Lidl) belt sander for years. Don’t use it much but handy

It comes with two clamps and has a flat top so you can turn it upside down and use it as a linnisher.
Great for my needs

I bought one of the cheap Titan ones this week. It seems to work OK so far. Thanks for all the suggestions.
