Anyone know where i can get some cheapish ladders. They have to be pretty big ones as i already have a double set. But i need to be able to get up to the gable ends of a house.
i use them regularly and am doing 2 jobs where i need to hire so that is £70 spent. i currently have a double 4.2m and it is short sometimes. i rent out a few houses you see and do all my own stuff.

Look @ eBay. Firms often get rid of ladders when they are deemed @ their lifespan end by regulations. So if you`re DIY ing on your own properties your safety is all down to you
I'd definitely reccomend the triple. For ease of transport/storage/versatlity and for the same reach as longer doubles. Weight difference is marginal and handling, well you just extend the higher section first, then the middle section.
When you don't need the height of the triple just use two sections as a double.
I personally wouldn't bother with the type with rope to extend, but it's all personal opinion.
The locks to lock it in a particular position is useful, especially for transport.
And get a ladder stand-off while you're at it.
