Have had to replace a drain and have put in a new water pipe under our tarmac front path and I need to make good the path until we do up the front of the house in 6 - 8 months where its probably all going to be ripped up and probably replaced with yorkstone. I have back filled the holes with balast and need a cheap finish. There are 2 areas about 1m squared each.
Paying someone to hot tarmac is going to be expensive and I don't fancy using cold lay as i think it will be difficult to get a flat finish without hiring a whacker plate.
I was thinking of just concreting the areas using a smallish aggregate and maybe putting in a bit of black cement dye into help it blend in a bit.
Any opinions, experiences or advice on doing this job please?

Regards
Jim
