Hi
I was planning on removing the front coarse on this chimney breast and fitting a lintel so I could get more room to fit the new kitchen.
I expected to be able to remove it and I’d reach the outer wall but when I drilled the mortar to get my strong boys in I hit another coarse of brick!!
There is a narrower breast above it in a bedroom.
Will this be a double wall?

Do you want to remove enough chimney breast to fit a work top under it
If ou would like to remove the entire chimney breast up to the first floor to give more kitchen space then more info needed. What direction are the ceiling joists going? is thegroundfloor solid or suspended?can you post a photo of the first floor chimney breast and fireplace if there is a fireplace?

The lead gas pipe needs cutting off and solder capping at the copper pipe.
the sockets need isolating and moving out of the way.
