Hi
I have built a brick surround for a multi fuel burner to mantle height. is it ok to complete this to ceiling height in studwork, assuming I will be using a twin wall flue?
Building regs state that the recess must be non combustable. do they mean simple the "fire place" or thw whole thing to ceiling.
Many thanks in advance

You cannot box the flue in with studwork. You should be aware that installing a stove is controlled building work & must be done under building notice submission unless you use a registered HETAS installer. Getting it wrong can be extremely dangerous & may leave you without insurance in the event of a problem. There are several buiding regulations you must comply with & certain tests that need to be successfully completed, even witnessed & you must get a certificate of compliance on completion. You either need to do a lot more research or call in/get advice from a registered HETAS installer.
