Hi
I do my own gardening and all that but have no experience in hedges.
I have a brick built fence in the front of my house of about 800m high as in pic, length about 10m wide. I want to create a bit of privacy by planting hedges, need something which doesn't grow quickly easy maintenance, suggestions pls and how many do I need per 10m, height 5t

i still think Hawthorn is the best hedge, grows well, if it does get out of control it can be cut right back and it doesn't bother it., if its quite dense still gives a bit of privicy during the winter months - looks good in the spring with its white blossom, dense coverage in the summer, birds love to nest in it, then a good crop of berries in the autumn which is good natural food for the birds
and as a bonus its good for puncturing cyclists tyres

Worst hedge on the planet is the leylandii - it grows fast, gets out of control, then when cut back goes all brown and dead looking
