Cistern on Toilet

To take the lid off, the flush buttons will remove by gently prying them up. You will then see a plastic screw which you remove, and then the lid comes off.

Echoes, thank you very much, that worked perfectly!

Would never have worked out how to do it otherwise!

Mine's the same type - and I did stare at it for quite some time before looking under the buttons!

Its worth checking that the float valve and other internals will be OK with tablets. The last fluid master I fitted said don't put tablets in as they can damage the plastic.

I wouldn`t put tablets in anyway - they are pointless and most cause a mess when they don`t dissolve fully - just clean the bowl with a limescale busting liquid

The best thing to use is the 'over the rim fresheners' when they are finished, just flush them down the toilet.

I'll be round in the morning. (to unblock your drains)

I think Nige F has the right idea. If you really want to check, you'd have to find out what make the internals are then contact the manufacturer / look up their instruction on the internet. A lot more hassle than just not putting anything in.
