Hi

I have fibre cement roof sheets, from a 5yr old precast garage I have bought and have customised into a new garage.

Before i refit it i was considering cleaning up the roof sheets. I have jet washed one as a trial , and it has cleaned up really good and looks like new. but I am thinking that it might affect the waterproof / water run off ability of the sheet.

Whats the general opinion is it worth cleaning ? what method would you recommend ?

Many thanks for any assistance.

Hello, because it is fiber cement jetwash is the best way, Then I would seal it with an appropriate sealer or paint with an exterior colour of your choice.

You're just shortening its lifespan, as you are vigorously-degraded its surface. Probably best to leave it, unless you want to budget for replacement every ten (or fewer) years.
