I am ashamed to say that in 12 years, I have not properly cleaned them.

This week, I gave them a good going over with Auto Wheel.

It left these marks, so I then tried a dab of IPA which diminished them a little.

I am assuming they are tarry or oily in composition, so can anyone recommend a good (literal) solution, please? I thought of panel wipe, but I can only find it in 5 litres, which is overkill!

I obviously need something which will not damage the lacquer coat.

Thanks.

You can use a clay bar to remove tar dots etc. Bilt Hamber is the make I’ve used before... can be used with water.

Doh.....never thought of that. I've got a BH clay bar as well!

Guess it won't abrade the lacquer?

No it will be fine, better be as I’ve used it on paintwork.

I drop Two small chunks into a mug of hot water, Use one, Then when it gets a bit stiff, use the one that’s been soaking and drop the first into the mug to soften, that way you can keep swapping.
