My cooker hood was already installed when I bought the house in August 2008 but I believe it was installed some time in 2003.
When we moved in the grease filters looked like they hadn't been cleaned for AGES so I gave them a good clean. It took almost an hour to get them clean and they were still a little yellow and sticky in places.
I'm wondering if there's a better way to clean them? I'm just using washing up liquid, as the manual says to use a neutral detergent.
Maybe hydrochloric acid?
I've looked at replacing them but they're £25 each (I need 2). Any tips on where I could get them cheaper?
Thanks
