My wife dropped some yoghurt as she was getting it out of the fridge and it spilt on the marble floor tiles that we have. Although she quickly mopped it up, it has left a dull stain on the tiles, how do we remove this?
If your floor is really made of marble then a polish may not help to get rid of the stain. true marble is amazingly absorbent and will absorb almost anything that you put on it, even water will leave a mark until it has dissipated and evaporated away from within the stone.
I wouldn't worry too much about yoghurt because it contains no fat, and it is fats and oils that cause permanent marks to marble.
you can buy marble cleaners, some are bleaches and some work like a poultice by drawing out the stain. the poultice approach is the oldest method of removing stains in marble, you can make your own by mixing powdered chalk or even dry slaked lime with water until it is a slurry, then spreading it over the stain. as the water evaporates off it draws the stain out by capilary action. when the slurry has dried brush it off - hopefully the stain will brush off with it, if not repeat until it does.
