Hi,

Now that spring is here I'd like to give my sandstone patio a clean.

I've read about using sand to scrub it, but should I use any cleaning liquids? eg Jeyes, washing up liquid etc? I'm worried about staining it with cleaning liquids.

I dont have a pressure washer so I'll be doing it with a broom.

Thank
Alan

Hi Alan.

Just go hire a pressure washer - it'll do the job in no time at all and will be well worth it.

dont use chemicals on it, sandstone is likely to absorb them and discolur them. If you use a pressure washer be careful as it can blast out teh pointing. Try a stiff broom and a bag of sharp sand, first. You will be amazed at the results. Its dry, quick and less messy than a pressure washer.
