Cleaning steam generator iron

Hi - Can anyone explain how to clean out a steam generator iron, please? I'm frequently getting brown gunge spitting out whenever I press the steam button. The model I have is the Tefal Pro Turbo Express. ISTR reading somewhere that descaling tablets/distilling (?) water shouldn't be used. The instructions don't seem to make it very clear...

I just fill mine with water and then shake the water out it usually comes out cloudy keep filling it up and shaking it out till the water is clean looking i always use water from the hot tap to fill it for ironing as not so much scale from that tap .
