Clearance for a ventilation plate

Hi everyone,

I'm removing an old fire which is inset into the chimney and intend to block this off using plasterboard and fit a ventilation plate to stop any damp issues. If i were to fit an electric fire suite in the same place would this cause an issue with the ventilation?

Any advice wold be welcome.

Possibly if the fire sealed off the fireplace but not if air can still get to the vent either through the fire or around it
