The thing with yolk colour is that some are fed dyes that add colour to the yolk

With roam free birds the the yolk should change colour throughout the year reflecting what they have been pecking at and naturally finding throughout the seasons.

I went to a pet shop in Australia that was selling yellow and blue Budgies.
A little notice read that the origin of the Budgie was the UK.

Budgies are naturally Green with a mix of Yellow and black.

Most of the "free range" hens don't leave the shed most of the time.

They have shelter, food and warmth there, they stay indoors.

Battery eggs are awful, I've seen footage of the systems and it's basically animal torture. But I'm happy buying the barn types, where they get to wander about a big shed.
