Hello,

I am preparing to renovate an upper room. We already bought Kandean Korlok LVT for it. The floor has old, battered floorboard planks. We want to add some sound deadening to it too. Also, it has to be raised around 9mm, this is to match the floor height in the landing.

My first idea was to just use ply to overboard it before lying Korlok. However could I use Jumpax under Korlok, this is under click vinyl planks?
The official website for Jumpax says that it is suitable for glue down flooring but does not mention anything about floating floors. Hence my question if click vinyls can be put on top of Jumpax.
If I go ahead with this idea, what sort of problems am I getting into (if any)?

Call Karndean customer services/technical support for the definitive answer.

In our experience, the prep for Korlok needs to be as good as dry back Karndean, you absolutely need zero floor deflection or movement under Korlock to preserve the integrity of the joint system

Thanks all. I also reached out to Karndean and they confirmed the same:
Further to your enquiry I can confirm that Korlok is absolutely fine to be installed over a solid underlay such as Jumpax, our version of this would be Versilay
