Got a call off my daughter who had returned home to find water coming through the light fitting in the kitchen.
She established that it was coming from the bathroom WC, so I got her to turn the isolating valve off and flush the cistern until l got there.
I went to undo the wing nuts to remove the cistern and they both literally came away before I tried turning them, when I removed the cistern there was hardly anything left of the coupling plate, just a pile of rust.
Cleaned it all up and fitted new plate, bolts and donut all good.
Thought I would check the other 2 WC's and both were in a similar state, I've never come across plates in such poor condition.
The house is about 12 years old all the sanware is Twyfords, is this normal after 12 years or a faulty batch of plates ?
All rooms have good ventilation as well as extractor fans.
