hi there, I am looking for some advice regarding my home project. We have had the wall below a window removed to make way for a back door which is being fitted at the end of the month.

As you can see from the photos there is an existing dpc on the external leaf. The internal wall was brick mortared on to a timber wall plate (old Victorian house, no rot) so I have removed the bricks and will be replacing with 4x2. As you can see it’s a suspended timber floor internally. My query is related to closing the cavity between the external leaf where the door will be sitting and internally. would you recommend using a cavity closer or fill the cavity with concrete (protecting the wood with poly)

Open to suggestions if there are other options that would be more suitable.

Cheers
