Clutch Bearing Chainsaw

This keeps seizing, I can get it going with oil and grease but it soon locks up again

It is just a £2 needle bearing, but what is the best way to replace it, heat the drum up and drift it out, ? but then how to get the new one in ?

It will be a press fit. If you get a bearing & have a friendly local garage that have press then they will do it in 10 mins.

Getting the outer race out will be easy getting the inner section off the shaft less so.

Drift the old bearing out, and pull the new one in with a nut, washer and bolt.
I’m surprised to hear that it’s seizing up though.....usually there’s enough lube kicking around.
New clutch drums come complete with a bearing, if need be.

Needles run directly on the shaft with no inner race , is the shaft damaged at all

Some machines have a drilling in the end of the crankshaft and a cross drilling where the bearing sits, so you can get a nozzled grease gun in.
Munro, the outer shell of these needle roller bearings is extremely fragile, so gan canny when you press the new one in.
