My place has 9" brick walls internally insulated with polystyrene/plasterboard sheets - no problems.

But in the kitchen and bathroom I have two areas both about 3m² with no insulation, they both get slight condensation. What would be the thinnest sheet I could apply to overcome this minimal problem. I'm thinking of something applied like wallpaper.

Have you used it? the toolstation blurb seems a bit odd using bricks and concrete as a comparison rather than other insulation products. And the reviews aren't available at the moment. But thanks for taking the time

I think they use those materials as a comparison as they have terrible insulation properties!

I'm using it tomorrow, so I'll let you know...

I have used it or an identical equivalent.

The pasting of the wall is novel and the insulation backing will not "bend" over short distances, I found that out when on the first drop I tried to use a scraper / smoothing tool to get the material down and on to the skirting line, it cracks, quite alarming???

But if you are careful the crack will "repair" itself and the crack disappears.

I found a papering brush and especially a large flat scraper / smoothing tool.

The joints go together really well with a sort of a zipping sound.

Are the joints visible? or easily hidden with a coat of paint?

I've seen lots of 60's system concrete house builds lined with these rolls of thin polystyrene strips 3-5mm, and assumed it was standard.

In terms of insulation value, it's probably negligible. But anecdotally I'd say it can help with preventing condensation.

Its an interesting product to use.

On a par with wall papering, but different. Easier in some ways, the thickness makes it easy to move around, but also harder to get clean cuts with a Stanley

Looks like the joins are going to visible in some areas.
I've read a bit of caulk maybe needed, but this is a bay behind a sofa (hence the mould/condensation) so I'm not that bothered how it looks- its not going to get painted anytime soon, and hopefully is just a stop gap until we get external wall insulation
