Cold water feed to washing machine way to to turn loosen

Hi,

The blue cold water feed pipe to my washing machine is leaking, I can't seem to loosen it from the washing machine. First question to loosen it should I be turning it clockwise or anti-clockwise ? Also is there any tool I can use to loosen it, I tried a adjustable wrench and spanners but they just slip off.
