I'm hoping someone can help.

There's no water coming from the cold water tap in the kitchen. There are no leaks in the area.

I also have a outside tap and that works albeit not the powerful flow as it was. The water tank in the loft is filling as usual but again not with the same force of water pressure.

What could be the problem?

Any advise is most appreciated.

Thanks

Do any neighbours have similar problems? If so, it's obviously something external. Otherwise, has anyone altered anything to do with the plumbing recently?

I've asked a neighbour and there water is fine.

We have done no work whatsoever.

Thanks

Check your stop tap(s). Are they fully open? Can't think of anything else at the moment :( .

Have they been painting your water mains pipe lately. They're doing it in our area has been going on a year now I think. They cut into the main on a street in two places and pull through a pipe cleaner, then they pull through some paint, then they turn on the water again. Apart from massive holes in the road due to damage to the Victorian cast iron mains this causes, the sludge the cleaning pull through dislodges inevitably goes off up the branch. When the water is turned on again if you're the unlucky one it blocks your taps. Also causes ball valves to drip. It was some foreighner who invented the machine which cleans the pipe.

The only thing to do is dismantle blocked parts and clean. Then get ready to do it again tomorrow and the day after again.
