Hey Guys, I'm a college student and I'm in a friendly "war" with a mate. I need some kind of homemade additional lock - along with my present one (which my friend has a master key for); so that I can lock my room with confidence when I go out. Are there any tricks or hints you can give me?

Get one of those electronic locks from Maplins that use a soleniod to lock. If you use a magnetic switch you can unlock door just by applying a magnet in the right place! Make sure your friend realises, or unlocking he may inadvertently damage your lock by forcing door open thinking it jammed.

An easier solution would be to substitute your friends key with another one.
