Colour scheme help

Hi i'm new on here come for some help I have a light red carpet wich i would like to keep and a aubergine settee i'm stuck on what colour scheme to do my walls i have a chimney breast in the centre of the wall , i was thinking of doing that wall a different colour what do you think any help will be great

I'd go for a neutral if I were you. Something like oatmeal.
