Hi, I presently have an old glowworm combi in our flat kitchen which breaks down twice a year and needs replacement. It has never been able to cope with the typical scenario of bath/shower running + tap on in kitchen = massive drop in hot water flow. I want to replace the boiler and move to the loft space above the kitchen (which has limited headroom). We have a typical problem in London Victorian flats of a shared mains supply with downstairs which can also cause the drop in flow from the boiler in the morning.
I have consulted a local Corgi installer who recommended an accumulator to stabilise our supply along with an Ethos 54C, which he said would be able to cope with our hot water supply problems.
I'm aware that the Ethos is not a widely used unit, and hence am a little unsure. Would other more mainstream (and more easliy serviced) makes like Vaillant be able to fulfill similar DHW requirements?
Any advice most welcome.
