Combi boiler, cant get hot water while heating is on + other

Hi,

When I have the heating on I cannot get hot water. I have to turn the heating off and most times turn the boiler off a couple of times or leave for a very long time. Also when the heating is on, most of the time it heats to more than set on the thermostat. It seems to heat up to the thermostat temperature but then it stays in a sort of idle mode which still heats the radiators and puts the temperature up to about 26.

I would be grateful for any ideas.

Telling us the make and model of boiler would be a starting point for anyone to answer you.

Regardless, with most faults like that it would need test to be carried out on the boiler.

Some have internal diagnostic features which can help.
