Dear folks of the wonderful DIYNot forum,
My new combi boiler is randomly firing and heating the rads even with the room stat is turned well down below ambient. It heats water no problem. It heats the rads when the room stat tels it to. However it randomly fires up in the middle of the night even though the room stat is well down, say set to 16 when the room is at 19 at 2am.
The room stat is a programmable rt500 from Salus. It shows a flame symbol when it's telling the boiler to fire but during the random fireing of the boiler this symbol is not showing.
The boiler is an Vaillant Ecotec Plus 831.

Any suggestions welcome.

All the best

Change the frquency on the controller and the receiver, sounds like something else is interfering with it. Possibly a neighbour has a similar controller.
