I'm new to combi boilers and had a Vaillant installed a couple of months ago.

I have the hot water set to 55degC and pressure at 1.5bar. However I've noticed that when I run the hot tap, the temperature on the boiler climbs past the set temperature up to 75deg or more before settling at this high temperature.

This doesn't feel normal? The water at the tap end does feel quite hot. .. Pipes are fairly old and flow rate isn't great - could this cause a problem?

Any advice would be great so I can be sure I'm not getting the plumber back in for no reason! It was installed by a proper Vaillant Engineer so I trust that the install was done correctly .

I suspect you are reading the boiler temperature which will run hotter than the domestic hot water supplied to the tap, if your domestic was anywhere near 75deg you would be scalding yourself.

Read the user manual before you call him back out. I'm sure you'll find the info there. If not the Installion instructions, these are usually very detailed on the vaillants
