Hi All,
I have an Ariston eurocombi 27 mffi combi. I have recently replaced the diverter valve seal that has had a slight drip for 6 months or so (should of really changed it sooner i know!).

Boiler has been working fine with the drip and i have been topping up the system low pressure as and when required. Then a couple of downstairs radiators went cold so thought it time to get on and change the seal.

Anyhow after i changed the seal i thought i'd give the system a clean with some sentinel x400 as the inhibitor in the system had been diluted and thought this may clear the rads downstairs.

All was good after i added the x400, all rads red hot, but then after a day or so the boiler will sometimes fail to ignite?
It goes through the process of the pump starting, the fan sounds like it's also going but no ignition? If it's then left for an hour or so it will fire up first time?

Any pointers gratefully received, have i dislodged something? Filled the pump full of sludge?

Cheers Mark

Do you have to reset the boiler, ie turn the knob to reset, or does it kick in on its own?

If the fan is running then that's the first stage of the ignition process.

Ignition problems are totally separate from pump/circulation aspects.

But we don't give DIY advice on this forum so if the fan is running then you will need a gas reg engineer.

Best way to hear the fan is by listening outside at the flue. You can also feel the air flow is you can reach it.

Mick / Tony thank you for the replies.

I have put a bit more time in trying to find the fault.
I have now found that if i give the front control panel a knock as the boiler is going through it's ignition process it will fire up.

I think it's either a loose connection or the pcb has a dodgy connection somewhere.

My next course of action is too check all electrical connections and take it from there.

Hopefully i have dislodged a wire somewhere.

Cheers Mark
