Hi.

I have a Worcester CDi24 combi boiler and noticed the pressure was down. It had been like it for a while but finaly got around to topping it up a week or so back ( 1 and a bit Bar approx and much quieter now).

The problem now is that the hot water only fires up when the central heating is put on and turned up a bit. All taps/bathrooms are downstairs and mostly affects the shower (boiler is upstairs fed with a rising cold mains).

Is this a flow/pressure problem or is it something to do with internal whatchamacallit switches???

Is it hard for an average DIYer to put right ( I try most things but what I think will take 10 mins takes 2 days and a lot of ear ache) or should I get an engineer in. Its ok for now but don't want the heating on in the summer months!

Cheers

do a search on diverter valves and diaphrams

:)

a sod to change one these

:)

Edit!

this is a very difficult boiler to work on any anyone who knows about them will refer you to a Worcester or BG fixed price repair rather than waste 2-3 hours!

out of interest How would that help with a CDi tony, I have never seen the switch fail on these ever

Oops, perhaps partly because of the funny way its written I read that as being a 24i !!!

Thanks for the help

Found a website dedicated to replacing one of these
http://www.newtonnet.co.uk/house/boiler/
and from the description there it sound like thats the problem.

Strike me down if i am going to try that!!!!

I'm sure I could manage eventualy but not sure if its worth the stress

Cheers
