Hi,

i have just seen someones combi boiler (glowworm 30cxi) with the cold water being fed from tank in the loft. maybe done for pressure problem?

but it seems to be working ok, but just wondered if its safe and why this is not the normal way to fit them (if replacing old boiler with header tank)

should i be getting it rectified and for what reason.

thanks.

Dont quite understand the set up.

The mains to the boiler is from header tank or the CH has been fitted to a vented system?

instead of the cold water being plumbed straight in to the combi, it feeds what must be the old cold water header tank, which then gravity feeds the combi.

first time i've seen it done. and i would not do it my self, but is it safe?

Sen it a few times
No issue with it at all, it's normally done because of poor pressure or flowrate

yes seems to be working fine. just first thoughts were that it was a cowboy job, but could not fault the rest of the installation.
but was not sure if any danger or even a unsafe situation!
