Combi Installation advice -

Vaillant. It’s been a stinker but I’m not alone. There are lots of posts on forums about them and I have found a lot of installers don’t recommend Vaillant. The Ecotec went through a very bad patch which they resolved but I would not touch another one.
Funny that, the Valiant were boilers of choice, easy to install, service and replace parts, except when they went all plastic, have they really declined?

Intergas combis were the rage years ago but their parts are really expensive and pool of installers very few.

Veismann boilers were cosidred very good but parts are very very expensive.

I always said that would never touch another Vaillant Ecotec (after having 2).
So what have we got now to replace our obstinate Baxi?
Yup - Vaillant Ecotec Plus.
Installer choice.
He'll be servicing it, anyway.

My reading of the Vaillant problem is that things went wrong with the Ecotec range from about 12 to 8 years ago. Before that Vaillant had a justifiable high reputation and given later models are much more reliable it would explain why @helplessowner has been recommended a new one.

The very early ecotecs had some issues but they're generally excellent boilers now.

It’s not easy being impartial when you have been stung. The pre condensing Vaillant we had was solid but I don’t consider a 12 year old Ecotec which we changed it to, “very early”.
