Combi water valve leaking when avtivated.

Novice question but Whenever I top up the water in my boiler, water shoots out from above the black tap. Can anyone offer any suggestions on how I might address this please?

Replace it if the water comes out of the valve from behind the black lever.

You may want to consider the filling loop with handle on both fittings.

Check valve on cold pipe and stop tap on return pipe.
During service easier to drop the pressure during EV pressurisation

Are you talking about the chrome nut above the black handle, or from behind the black handle itself?

I think it sprays out from above the nut.

Have you tried tightening it

if it sprayed out from the top nut it would be leaking permanently as that is the cold mains feed into the valve it will be leaking from behind the black lever
