Combo Van

I have an N reg combo van 1700 diesal and I cannot get reverse and 5th gear. All the other gears are fine, could anyone help please

Is the problem going to to be major is it worth getting done ?

It sounds like it could be worn pins or bushes in the gear linkage, used to be quite a common fault on the Astra van, or the linkage just needs adjusting
