Come across this while checking loft insulation. Asbestos?

    IMG_0862.JPG IMG_0864.JPG Notice over a few Ivey night our roof is one of the only 1s in the street that doesn't ice over. Was told it's due to bad insulation. Just piped my head up and found this. Luckily I had a dust mask on from work. Was wondering if anyone can help

    It's not possible to tell from a photo but it might be the remains of an asbestos cement cistern - or it might be old mortar.

    The only way to be sure is to get it tested and, given the quantity and condition, that is the only sensible thing to do.

    On a closer look there is fibres coming off the material almost like cotton
